For anyone that doesnt know this is a site that you can choose the scale and then print the fretboard slots! I would like to ask something about this...i am building a 36 cm scale baglamas(greek intrument) the problem ii have is where to cut the first fre meaning where the nut goes...before the line or on the line?i measured the distance from the first fret to the 12th and from the line it is les than 18cm something like 17.9 before the line it 1 mm before the line it is 18...i will show you what i mean in the photo above |

The definition of a line is that it connects 2 points and has no width, So the answer to your questions is yes and yes. The other lines represent the center of the fret so you cut so that those lines are centered. |

Picolo, are you checking that the scale printed correctly? Sometimes printers can slightly shrink or enlarge what it prints. Just in case. Bob |

naccoachbob that is what i thought abou because only the first fret(i mean where we cut the fretboard for the nut)was 1mm incorect when i added one milimetre to the nut slo9t then alla the fingerboarrd was correct so what i thought is if the program thinks that the spot where the strings meet the string isnt the same that they (strings) actually sit on it...am i thinking correctly? I will show you in a picture what i mean. Also after i did that alla other measurments from the spot the strings sit are correct |
